Man: I got season tickets for the football team, and my boys won't go with me. They're not interested. Abby's dad: You're kidding! When I was their age, I jumped at the chance to go to a game with my dad. Gary: You know what it is? They don't play the game. We used to have pickup football games all the time when I was a kid. Man: Maybe. Man 2: Nah, I'll tell you why they're not interested...video games. They play these wild games all the time, so to go out in the front yard and play a real-life game is boring. Man: Video games-you're right. Gary: We played pickup football games almost everyday. Hey! We could get a couple more guys and play some touch football ourselves. Abby's dad: Maybe it would inspire the kids. Man 2: Count me out. I'm bushed. I was up until 3 A.M. playing "World of Warcraft" on the computer.
Sports aren’t the same anymore. Players imported from all over — the globe, not just the country — big money everywhere, stadiums named after corporate sponsors. A long time ago I lost interest — why should I care about a silly game played by a bunch of rich guys I don’t know, with no connection to me or my state except they’re getting paid to play their “home” games here?
