One thing that I love about the strip is how diverse the main cast is: Jack is white with mixed European ancestry, Abby is biracial, Mondo is Hispanic, Peri is black, Dee is Polish, Bailey is white, Edith is biracial, and Jerome is black. However, their racial backgrounds are brought up a handful of times (usually as witty one-liners) and aren’t their defining traits. They are very multilayered and fleshed out characters with positive upbringings. Representation has come so far over the years, so this strip was really head of the curb.
