Once one of our cats had diarrhea. The vet gave us an instruction sheet for treatment which was basically give it pepto bismol. The last sentence on the sheet was; “Wear pink.”
LOL! While my kitty doesn’t fight me over pills now, he does still glare. And I got my share of war wounds while teaching him that I’m the Momma and won’t let him have a choice in the matter!
Skip giving medicine to the cat, it will either live or die but it sure isn’t worth all the scratches and in this case the dying. Pretty sure no cat is worth that much aggravation.
I had a large tomcat and when I followed the Vet’s instructions for giving him a tablet forcing his mouth open and putting the tablet on the back of his tongue with no scratches or bites but after feeling like I had won the battle, he would spit it out and glare at me! He would hold it in his mouth till I turned my back and then spit it out.

It’s a lot higher when it comes to pills in suppository form.

Or trying to give one a flea dip; he shredded my arms and shirt, plus the room looked like it’d been hosed down…

We have one that requires 2 days of stalking before you can apply flea drops – he knows it’s coming, no matter how discreet we are about preparing.

Hopefully the EMTs are that sympathetic that they give the statistics for every type of death at the scene.

Feline Greenies Pill Pockets solved that problem for me on the rare occasions when one of mine needed oral meds.
