I’d spend Christmas with Earl and Opal and spend the new year with my parents.

Who wouldn’t want to spend every holiday with Earl and Opal?

My mother-in-law says this to my wife nearly every year.

I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen Sylvia’s husband.

As for Opal saying something like this, it’s dirty pool.

The right thing to do would be to rotate it every year., but since when would Opal do the right thing.

that’s why we had to spend every Christmas from the time I was 5 until I left home at our Grandmothers house.

I never remember a Christmas Day at home in my growing up years.

He is the stepdad, and he has been in the strip before, but he looks handsomer (is that a word? Oh well) than in previous strips.

haven’t seen Dan in a long time. I thought he was gone (death/divorce etc.) Does anyone know the story about Nelson’s biological father ?

Am I the only one who thinks this is a drastic change in graphic style? Suddenly all the noses are pointy and instead of gradual shading, colors change abruptly.

Is Alex Williamson the reincarnation of the “Color Critic” that was on this site? Any comments?

I’m not complaining,skins fan, I just wondered why no one else commented on the change in style. I’ve seen immediate comments on style change before.

Frankly I think Opal looks tough enough to last another forty years. Regardless I think all the relations should get together in one (perhaps on neutral territory) full family blast.

Adam@Home was a noticable change, but then there was a change in artists. I am not aware of a change in artist or in style in this strip.

I think I am going to stay home with myself alone for Xmas Eve and Day anyway.

Oh, that mother-in-law of Dan’s. What does the father-in-law have to say about that? Probably doesn’t care.

Alex Williamson-my apologies. It was intended as an inside joke for long-time GoComics readers. There was a person here that, for a long time, only commented on the colors of the strips, NOT the strips themselves. I think that he was eventually removed. Someone like Margueritem would remember. No offense meant.

someone may have aneed for a grake or maybe they broke something. The noses are different. Nelson nose is like Opal and Earls. Non the less LOL

As for the nose jobs, it’s been awhile since we saw these two, I don’t remember the noses. I have one Pickles book, if I think about it, I’ll go check the noses!
