If she gets something she doesn’t like, then it’s her fault for not sending a hint. But, knowing Adam, she gave him some and he didn’t catch it.

A list is a wonderful way to get what you want. I keep a list of things I would like to get, so when a gift giving occasion comes around, should someone choose to give me a gift, there is a list of things so there is no guess work. Seems nicer to me.

I usually give out a lot of hints like “Oh I like that!” “This is really beautiful!” “Oh, I’d love one of those!”

I am very rarely surprised by what I get for Christmas because I usually have to pick them out. Especially with my boyfriend, we go out shopping together and I pick out what I like. And since my birthday is the month before many times I’ll get a larger gift that is a birthday/Christmas gift.

My wife’s birthday is Dec 28. She told me 35 years ago when we were first dating that there would be no multipurpose gifts … there would be Christmas gifts and birthday gifts.

Good for her. My birthday’s in March but my mother loved to do the combo thing even with my birthday 3 months later. People with their birthdays too close to Christmas always get ripped off in the present department.
