Baldo by Hector D. Cantú and Carlos Castellanos for September 26, 2012

Transcript:
Rayna: Cruz, you are rude, insnsitinve, bad-mannered, gross and uncouth. Cruz: So, we can be friends? Rayna: I need help replacing my battery every 4 hours.
I saw a story about this robot in an article yesterday and it made me think of Baldo. The article was saying a Colorado boy with extreme dairy allergies was able to go to school by using one of these wifi robots. I think it’s called a VGo.
I was surprised to see this is a real thing, not comic book sci-fi:VGo Robot
I have to say I’m still perplexed as to the value – I’m not seeing that it does anything that a computer, an internet connection, and virtual classroom software such as Adobe Connect already do for allowing students to remotely connect and interactively participate in classes at another site.
All I can say about this, is that Cruz is interested in Rayna, along the robot that goes to school for her, but Cruz keeps saying and doing all the dumb things. Maybe he needs to shove that huge foot of his in his mouth to get the message. Also, I think Rayna is a little rude too.
Cruz’ reaction to Rayna’s putdown reminds me of the teacher who told the class he once told a waitress that her place served the most putrid coffee he’d ever had. She thanked him profusely and sincerely. Can’t account for people’s lack of vocabulary, I guess.

Rayna…it would be better to insult Cruz in words he can understand!
