All of the people executed in the Salem Witch Trials were hanged, not burned (nobody was ever executed for witchcraft by burning in the colonies). Giles Corey died under torture (must have been one of Cheney’s ancestors there) and an additional five died in prison.

Burning alive was the method of execution prescribed for heretics, not witches, who were usually hanged then cremated, which, supposedly, would prevent their resurrection on the Last Day.. Apparently the good Christians of that time were of the opinion that their omnipotent deity could reanimate a bag of bones but was totally stymied by a pile of ashes.

I’d hire a taster first for sure! No witch casseroles for me!

Reminds me of George Carlin’s old “Indian Sergeant” routine. So many great lines in that one. “There’ll be a massacre tonight at nine o’clock! This will be the fifth straight night we’ve attacked the fort. Tonight it will not be so easy…Tonight there will.be.soldiers.in.the.fort!”

If you burn me, I will curse all Potluckers to vomit vile and slimy things…like lime Jello, perhaps.
