Why is the guy selling his truck? Doesn’t he need it so he doesn’t have to walk in the rain?

Better let him drive, he knows where to go.

Maybe he can drive Skeezix home, so Skeezix doesn’t have to drive in the driving rain at night. Then he can borrow Slim’s new pick-up to get back to Cliffside, and return it the next day. Then Skeezix can drive him back in the daylight, provided the rain has stopped.

What are the odds of bumping in to the owner of the truck…….everything is just coming up roses………or maybe they’re in danger of pushing up daisies.

Is he selling his truck – or is someone else selling his truck?

“It didn’t look like this in your auction listing! When did you take those pictures?!”“Not sure…aught-one, aught-three, maybe…”

Surprising development and good suggestions in previous comments. Why is he walking? Is the truck not as advertised? Is someone else selling it? I hope they aren’t going into a dangerous situation. We don’t know what time of day it is. If they left by10 am, allow an hour and a half for the drive and make the deal quickly, they could get home before dark; and maybe it will quit raining before they head back home. No problem but not a very exciting story, either.

I am guessing that they will end up needing to spend the night – and some spooky, pre-Hallowe’en high-jinks will pop up.

If he is walking, the truck is not running.
