Too bad you missed out on Cash for Clunkers…course you could still try to sell it to the clunkers in Washington.

That car would not qualify for”Cash for Clunkers” since it’s over 25 years old. At 51 it’s a genuine antiques. Oh yeah and also it’s a cartoon!

That DeSoto is so Classic, it is perfect. Only the 59(i think)Caddy has bigger fins and is truly georgous!

On the other hand, look at all the car payments Cosmo has never had to make and car insurance has to be really cheap for a 50 year old DeSoto. So far as breaking down is concerned, I think I started breaking down at about 50. Now, 20 years later, I break down even more often, but I can still be repaired and I still keep running.

It’s also probably passed its lifetime quota of repairs.

If you weren’t so cheap you could buy a new one.

ANandy: yer right, this is totally unfair! Not only do the Cubans get free health care that’s just about as good as ours (and in some cases better), they also get to drive around in beautiful rolling-art-object classic cars that only the richest one percent of Americans can afford. Totally unfair! We better invade immediately!

I had a beater car that I drove to work about 20 years ago that had a very bad winter. AAA refused to come out with a “free” jump start when it stalled at a red light on a freeway exit ramp, because of too many previous calls that year (maybe 2). I was a long time member and had made very few calls over the years. I am no longer a member.
