Dad: Gracie, you can't spend the next four days waiting here for christmas! Gracie: Papi, that's the best part! Gracie: With waiting comes hoe and the fulfillment of promise! The swelling excitement in its purest form is magical!
Joe - I agree with what your Dad said about not taking anyone’s word for what the Bible says. (And that includes taking your word for your interpretation of what the Bible says about many things.)
Back to the cartoon, I love how the cartoonist showed Papi’s childlike wonder and anticipation too. This tool is used a lot with equal results in Rose Is Rose.
Can we please quit the preaching and just enjoy the comic strip? There is a time and place for such things, but I don’t want it here, if you don’t mind. A message board is too impersonal for such a personal topic.

Christmas, a time for children of all ages…

Ah, yes, but Joe, remember those of us who came after Christ have another promise we are waiting for.
For thousands of years, Israel waited for her Messiah to come. And for thousands of years His church has also waited… for Him to come again.
There’s not a day goes by I don’t look to the heavens in childlike awe and wonder “Will today be the day?”

Waiting…hope…next, Nobel Peace Prize! (Fulfillment of promise, not so much)

I think she was talking about Santa Claus. Your assumptions about a R.C. Homily is called transfer.
I’ve used fiction as a preaching tool; however, I’ve never used Santa Claus. Doesn’t work too well.

Only four more nights until Godot shows up, bringing joy and peace (of mind) to all those who wait.
I just know he’s coming. He said he was coming…
…
Do you think he’s coming?
