    I’m leaning to less likely late 20s, 1930s. Forties would be press the luck little, but the series they been showing been off and on various time periods where mutt single and living with Jeff and another Jeff has a kid and Mutt is married.

    rac0308: Nevertheless, this looks more like a ’20s or ’30s strip. Maybe there was another “Freedom Crusade,” or maybe the dialogue in this strip was later altered, the same way “Shirley Temple” was replaced by “Julia Roberts” in another M&J strip.

    BTW, if Jeff wants to get more “customers,” he might want to offer a 30-day free trial. 8)
