WWII food rationing jokes are kind of cute. Some of the greatest movies on Turner Classic Movies have to do with topics such as food rationing and not being able to find a place to live in Washington,D.C. because the city was crowded with people involved in the war effort. There is something refreshing about Clark Gable haggling with a farmer who has the audacity to try to charge Clark one whole cent for ONLY one egg!

I agree that the repeats are much too frequent, and after 75 years on the comics page there must be a mountain of strips we haven’t seen yet.
On the other hand, some of the newer strips might not be up to par; e.g., do we really want to risk seeing Disco Mutt?

Perhaps gocomics doesn’t own the rights to all the strips, or they weren’t archived and are gone forever.
