The art is a weirdly wonderful effect for a comic strip - and I like that it’s only in the first frame, where Banks is off in a sublime world somewhere (or at least taking some sort of mental break depending on what he’s reading).
Kind of like how Berke Breathed used to lay on the landscape art pretty heavily when he wanted to evoke being transported (which was most of the time, for him).
What’s rare is what makes the biggest impact. Well timed.
