I’ve never understood this concept of playing all day over hill and dale with the dog off the leash but then to go for a walk you need to put a leash on them.
My ex-neighbor had a black lab. When he saw me, he’d be very excited and run to me, nearly knocking me over (I didn’t mind; sweet dog). But with another neighbor, a frail, 87-yr-old woman, he’d stand very still and just let her pat the top of his head.

Is Rover friendly, or does he smell steak tartare in that lady’s grocery bag?

Not too many cars out on “hill and dale,” BUT walking along the street! (THAT’s another matter.)
Friends don’t let friends get “squished.”

Look at his smile! Rover is always smiling, that’s why I love this strip.

“No, ma’am, he already ate my hand today and he wags his tail when he’s hungry. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere’s your sign.” ;-)

Rover’s not friendly. Only his tail and goofy grin make him look that way ma’am.
