Rover’s giveaway is the tongue and the awesome smile. What more does one need to know? I always get down to doggie level befoe doggies comes up to Aaron level. Saves embarrassment for both of us.
Has anyone seen a small breed of dog (looks like a Westie) that always smells itself when you greet it? Then it lies belly up (Beta doggystyle). I always think that it is checking it own odor, but I refuse to check it too!

Look at it from the dog’s viewpoint: their primary recognition sense is olfactory and that is where the scent is most concentrated.
