    Uhm, I might not be the brightest bulb, but isn’t “weapon of war” kind of redundant? I mean whoever heard of a “weapon of peace”?

    As opposed to “weapon of hunting” or “weapon of shooting sports” - they’re still weapons, even if they aren’t being used against people.

    Fast acting poisons like in this strip are rather obvious. Much more often, things like Asbestos turn out to have long term problems. Or consider the “butter flavor” ester used in microwave popcorn:

    @stealth6948, yeah - even Hitler eschewed chemical weapons as too unpredictable. But Hitler was in a position of strength, like China - which is also unlikely to use Chemical or Bio. When you’re fighting from a position of weakness, like the Mid East and North Korea potentates, then an unpredictable weapon looks pretty good. You need a lucky roll of the dice to conquer the world.
