It would be like Slim to buy a haunted ghost truck. Although there could be some uses in the storyline from time to time where Jimmy might advise Slim on some problem. People would see Slim talking to nobody…
Looking back on some of the dialog, things begin to make sense.“I’ve been trying to get home.”“B-r-r I’m soaked to the bone and I’m c-c-cold.”“You’ll get a halo for this.”“With the wind and rain, this’d make a great plot for a ghost movie.”“That’s our family plot.”
I used to cross a long rail bridge to fish as a kid. We’d put our ear to the rail – you could hear the train coming a lot further away that way than through the air.
(Enter Rod Serling) " Submitted for your approval..A World War II vet and a mecahanic with a monkey wrench for a brain meet a ghost trying to sell a pickup truck, it can only happen in “THE TWILIGHT ZONE” (dee, dee, dee, dee…dee, dee, dee, dee.)
Not only no where to hide on a trestle but trains don’t make as much noise as you’d think they would and can sneak up on you. Most of the noise is behind them and if they’re traveling slowly you won’t hear the loco till it’s right on you unless the engineer blows the horn.

Slim’s first thought is: that he’ll never see his “GA” jacket again.

Plot line apparently inspired by Dickey Lee’s 1965 Laurie (Strange Things Happen) single.

@LlewellenbruceA trestle is a bridge. If it was a large span, he was doomed.
