I think the swedish chef speaks english for the most part…. very bad and heavily accented english, but english all the same.

No, Tyr IS speaking English. The English letters have just been transliterated to the runes. Not at all the same thing as his speaking some Scandahoovian language and actually having it translated.

Not the same thing, but more fun. Walt Kelly used orthographical jokes in Pogo, writing fake Russian (or Russian-accented English) as English words in a bastardized cyrillic alphabet. The Asterix books do similar things sometimes.
It’s a lot better than supposing that Asgardian gods speak Elizabethan English, like in the “Thor” comics: “Thou shalt feeleth the blow of my mighty hammer!”
