“Lack of care”? … I’m not so sure about that. For example, those “Cadilac” Health and Pension Plans, together with the “top” wages (internationally) in the Industry (now buttered up by the Government - for votes) certainly seems to have “helped” mightly, to put the “skids” under the GM tire.

Our biggest industrialist, Bill Gates, is giving $10 billion for Haiti, AIDS, and other causes. Other corporations are making giant contributions. Maybe they don’t care and just want the publicity?
Meanwhile, the Muslim oil nations, Saudi Arabia and Iran, have combined to give zero.
Getting off politics and back to the comic strip: thankfully Ollie has landed safely. Hope the same for Annie, contrary to the usual way things have played out for her over the past 70 years… Oh well, Annie’s misfortunes always make for interesting twists in the plot…

Tried to do a search in the Archives for the last appearance of Amelia (never quite completed) but I did see her in late 2008. I agree that Maeder would do well to bring back the Asp and Punjab.
Sorry RayC, (aka “idiot”?). Guess I’ll have to conceal that I too watch Fox News. A majotity of American people think that Fox News provides the most “RELIABLE” news (in a new Survey by a Democratic leaning Polster) The ABC’s, NBC’s and CNN’s all fall far behind. MSNBC couldn’t even make the list.
But I guess a lot of people LISTEN to what they WANT to hear. Sorry for them though, “Air America” (former home of Al Franken - and funded by left wing multi-millionaire George Soros) has just gone “bankrupt” and is now off the air. Seems few people liked to listen to their Fare
Sydney, all the drivel I hear about Fox is from people who never watch it. The other day, a guy claimed he had heard that all the males dress like bums and the females dress like hookers. But he has never watched it!
Now we have a guy throwing out the “fact” that “they are all lying liars and racists,” yet never has watched it and never will. It’s sad, but if someone want to keep on slinging his ad hominem arguments, he has to avoid watching and learning the truth.Words like “liars” and “nutbags” are not arguments, they are just hopeless flailing.
BTW, speaking of racists, Devonshade, the only news person I’ve heard lately to mention the President’s race was Chris Matthews of MSNBC.
“I almost forgot he was black,” has to be one of the most racist comments I’ve ever heard.
And yeah, I’d like to see Punjab and the Asp again, too.
I finally realized that Fox news was mostly “commentary” with only a basic reporting of the facts. That’s OK, but I want to here all the news completely, uninterpreted, before I start getting it ex[plained to me. I mostly watch CNN headline news to hear the stories and then listen to Fox or CBS for the commentary.
