Come on, Lisa – at least leaf through a few old newspapers before you make this statement. There was a recession, there was some unemployment, there are two wars going on, and, yes, the President took some leadership roles in dealing with those issues, as he should, as Dick Cheney did with his sock puppet in previous years. But there were plenty of other stories that didn’t have much to do with him. Think before you draw.

Seems Lisa isn’t concerned with what he says, but that he’s black. There is so much of that going around.

scott I agree, surely President Bush deserved better. I do believe the writers of history will take a more reasoned stance. No matter, George Bush is at peace with himself.

Actually, Faux is the one constantly playing the “narcissist” exposure. Obama DOES appear before the public to try to explain the administration’s efforts. WHY did Faux, CNN, and the “liberal” media start complaining Obama was “hiding out” when he wasn’t on every network seven minutes after the Detroit incident, explaining the “administration failures”(in the NETHERLANDS AND NIGERIA)????

Bush was rarely seen being “Presidential”, because he was far worse than Napolitano at explaining himself, AND committing faux pas.

Get a grip, “righties”- Karl Rove is still there in a secure, undisclosed location, telling us through several sources now (like Cheney), that 9/11 DID NOT HAPPEN ON BUSH’S WATCH!

Saying Bush wasn’t covered by media during his presidency is total bunk. Of course he was! I remember making a point of trying to catch his speeches and especially his news conferences because I wanted to hear his reasons for going to war in Iraq, and later, I wanted to hear from the president the reasons for why we were still in iraq. What was our goal? What did victory mean? What were we trying to achieve?

I was as skeptical then as I am now about statements from political pundits and talking heads. Bush held very few news conferences and limited his exposure to media. Please remember the Bush administration frequently sent surrogates to news programs instead of the the President. (Cheney, Rice, Powell, made the Sunday morning news programs constantly prior to going to war in Iraq.)

Like most the country, I wanted to hear from Bush directly after 9/11. As we neared war, i wanted to hear from Bush directly much more than he wanted to speak directly.

And that’s the way it was.
