That’s blackjack, not poker. And you don’t want to split eights against a dealers’ nine and up, or you’re more likely to lose twice your original bet. Always splitting aces is sound advice, but only split eights against a 2 - 8.
Well, blackjack is pretty good, but teach her “craps”, Sam - better odds (and tell her to stay away from Keno and the slots). Of course, who do all the odds actually favor? Still fun, though…

I don’t think they cover that in Blackjack 101. That comes in the advanced blackjack class.
