Kind of hard to get them mixed up, even for a foreigner. One’s the wooden rods that are behind the batter, and the bat is a huge thing made of wood, with a flat paddle.

Good thing you caught yourself, The_JAM.

Mr. Chatfield, if you’re out there, what can you use as make-shift cricket equipment? I come from from the United States.

I had a friend that played cricket. The bat is too narrow and short to be very useful as a paddle, and it seemed to me like the balance was off if you were going to hit a moving ball. But I’ll bet you could really kill crickets with one.

    comixavier,

The one and only thing you can’t really replace in cricket is the bat. That’s the one thing that makes it so unique. - As far as the other peices of equipment, you can use a bin as a wicket (or “the stumps”), anything for a ball, and everything else is optional.

    Thanks for reading!
