I don’t see the word as “doughnuts” anymore, just “donuts”– is that a regional thing? And weren’t the “doughboys” from WWI? Yet Nina is giving Skeezix, a WWII vet, the Pillsbury Doughboy treatment. And isn’t “POIK!” The sound a cell-phone makes?
Skeezix has more of a problem than just the size. His uniform is assuredly out of date. I’ve only been out the Army a few years and the uniform has completely changed. When I first joined the service in 80 we were still wearing the old fatigue uniform. We switched to the BDU not long after that. During the 1st Gulf War we all wore what we called Chocolate Chips, which was just a variation of the BDU. Now they’re wearing these things called ACU’s, which are something new to me. Skeezix’ uniform would be really out of date. I doubt an Army Surplus store would be able to fix him up. They might have parts, but not a complete uniform. He’d better start looking on eBay.
Someone mentioned Sarge on Beetle Bailey strip. I agree.
Joe-Allen I do read your comments good or bad and when you decide to get mad at me for my comment.
I have forgotten though how long where you in the service and where did they send you?
Awesome that you were an extra in War and Remembrance Joe. I saw both Winds of War and War and Remembrance and loved them. The former had some of the most beautiful theme music I ever heard. I started reading the book but got a bit bogged down and never finished it.

Joe-Allen “Joe” Doty said, He probably needs to go to an Army Surplus store and buy a uniform that fits.
But only a General would have worn Skeezix’s current size!

I knew plenty of Marines that size. God were they fun to watch on the Physical Fitness test. My uniforms unaccountably shrunk in the last 35 years.

Skeezix, that’s your Sarge talking. Better go check your uniform.

Maybe Skeezix can barrow Seargent Snorkel’s uniform.
