Adam: Look. I don't mean to ignore you, and it's not like daddy wants to sit in front of a computer during the day either. But you have to understand that this is my job. This is how I help to put shoes on your feet and food in your belly. Clayton: Okay. We can't go without food, but we'll go barefoot the rest of the summer if you play with us more.

Reminds me of a story (I’m paraphrasing) where a kid keeps pestering his dad to play with him while he’s working at home. The kid finally asks his dad how much he earns per hour & the dad tells him $100. The kid pulls out $50 from his pocket & asks if he can borrow $50 so he can buy an hour of his dad’s time. Really sweet when you think about it. They appreciate what you do FOR them, but they REALLY appreciate what you do WITH them even more!
