Ok, where's this so-called giant spider? Stephanie Axelrod, the wife of a good friend (her name has been changed slightly to protect her identity), calls Adam on her cell phone for roadside assistance. (Her husband still says to this day he was in meetings all day.)...This, on one of Adam's busiest days.

In all seriousness -
One Saturday, my dad needed the pickup truck my parents and I all share. He was using the equipment at the shop he worked at to produce something for the house, and it was too large to fit in the family van he’d made into his work van.
Well, mom and I needed to run errands that day. I’m too broad-shouldered to comfortably fit into her car, and my car wasn’t running right, so we decided to try the van. I always had trouble driving because of how sensitive the steering was (even slight motions on my part could have it on the other side of the road), so that left mom to drive.
The first major errand is going to a local UPS store only to discover that for the amount of copies we were looking to make for something at church the local library was a better deal. We’re less than a mile from the UPS store when a spider the size of my thumb crawls out from under some tools dad had and starts climbing on me.
I yell for mom to stop the van because I have a spider on me, she freaks, she slams on the brakes, she gets out, she takes off her shoe, and she starts smacking the thing right there in the middle of a residential zone.
