When I was a kid in Queens, You got it from the Nuns, you got it from Mom & Dad, AND you got it from EVERY Little Old Lady on the way home. (The Grapevine was incredible!)
When I got in trouble in school I got it from the teacher, then my grandfather who drove the school bus I rode on the way home, then my Dad who was always home somewhere in the barn or in the fields—he would stop and administer the final rod of correction. Jeeesh!

That’s why kids of yesterday were so well behaved. The parents and the teachers worked as a tag team and backed each other up.

When a kid got in trouble, they got in trouble twice! Like baarbear said – maybe that’s why they were so well behaved.
