Good to see Wink again. I’m glad he (like Harrell) landed on his feet with a new gig. I never understood how such a great strip as Big Top never made it.
I’m with you gkolanoswki. For the most part the strip used to be about Adam. Now I think it should be called Adam’s Family. Add Lurch and it might actually be funny again. UGGGGGGGHHHHHH!
Adam was good in it’s day with Brian at the helm, but HE knew when it was time to quit! And “Red & Rover” is a GREAT STRIP!!! One of my favorites. I think it’s time Rob gets the credit for Adam and Rob if you’re checking in, we at the Big Top LOVE the strip!! You gave it up too soon!
on my list of comics to read, Adam was near being dropped before the change in creators. i didn’t find it funny on a consistent basis (if it doesn’t make me smile regularly, i’ll drop it). i’m still here. obviously, i like the new Adam. i never saw Big Top, but, if it was an equal to this, i’m sorry i missed it.
Great to see Wink get a little nod. I too wish Big Top would be recreated. I think Harrell is doing a terrific job on Adam and Red & Rover is great with Brian putting his efforts to fruition there.
For those of you not familiar with Big Top, do yourself a favor and add the reruns here to your favorites. (The story arc they are currently in is “dated” by VERY funny.)
Add me to the list of those who’d nearly dropped Adam before the change. I don’t know who’s writing these days, but it’s a lot more fun and interesting than it had been for a while. (And I do miss Big Top, too.)
Great job here with Adam@Home Mr. Harrel. I’m a convert to the new Adam, after initially mourning Brian’s departure. And thanks to a loyal B.T. fan here, I discovered Big Top for the first time, as my paper didn’t carry it here.

True, maybe he should reprise it. Give it a second chance. Perhaps in their continuity, it’s a popular Saturday morning cartoon show.

it’s a sign that there will be a Big Top cartoon.

Not familiar with Big Top, but I would be happy if Brian Bassett came back to Adam@Home. Sorry, but it’s just not the same since Harrell took over.

Boggles my mind that anyone could want Brian Bassett back … did you read it when he was doing it? It was awful.
Theme weeks. Repeated art. Cut & paste. Punchlines that a six year old could come up with.
Bassett admitted in an interview that he didn’t care about Adam as much since Red & Rover launched. And it showed …

I was a big fan of the old Adam … I’d read it since it started. But the last few years of Bassett’s work had gotten stale and repetitive.
I’m sorry, no offense to you BC13 or golkanski but to my mind, there’s no comparison now.
Harrell has given it a much-needed jolt and renewed my interest in it.
The funny thing is I discovered this site because of the change.

Yes yes, Wink, but does anyone notice how Clayton is conspicuously drawn to look like his father from behind in the last frame?
Like father like son.

I can see this comic doing a “Funky Jump” ie when Funky Winkerbean jumped 20 years into the future…and now it takes alot to figure out who’s who.

OK, rhonda, I’ll give it a try - can I trust you?
