Not inteneded by the authors (I think), but isn’t this a fair summary of the argument against the free Obamaphones of a few weeks ago?

Plus from what limited knowledge I have “Obamaphones” aren’t really “Obamaphones” as the president has nothing to do with that program.

And people who want to criticize the president like to attach his name to this program or that, as if ‘Obama’ is an all purpose byword.

Just to clear it up, before anyone else gets on their soapbox- this gag has absolutely nothing to do with the presidential race, or politics in any other way. It’s a gag about a kid and her parents. Period. Believe it or not, not everything is about politics.

So true, I tell that to the commercial, well it makes me feel better even if they don’t listen.

I got tired of that ‘gate’ business so long ago. I call it Clichegate. It’s like using ‘aholic’ for any kind of addiction or obsession. An alcoholic isn’t addicted to ‘al.’ And a workaholic is not obsessed with workahol.

Back to the comic strip, being the loudest doesn’t make you right Maria. :)

I wonder if Maria would be willing to help out around the house for the priviledge of having her own phone. Probably would work for a while anyway.
