Kicked... Kicks! Following the public hanging of criminal George Big Nose Parrott in Carbon County, Wy., USA- a local doctor had his skin made into a pair of dress shoes! The first computer bug was a real insect! In 1947, a moth was found in a burned out relay of one of Harvard University's computers and debugging soon became a common activity! Archaeologists have discovered the remains of ancient pottery in Xianrendong Cave, Jiangxi Province, China, that dates back 20,000 years. Earlier than the development of agriculture!

There’s too much about George Parrott on wikipedia to write here. It’s interesting. The top of his skull was used as an ashtray by Wyoming’s first female doctor.

It isn’t clear that the moth was the first computer bug. Some think the term “debugging” existed earlier, and Grace Hopper was using humor when, after discovering the moth, she wrote that it was the first known case of actual bug being found. By the way, she taped the remains of the moth in her journal.

Following the hanging it sounds like there were some sick vultures around. They were as much a criminal as he was if they thought that was appropriate behaviour.
