He played the man-servant in the older version of “Around the World in 80 Days”. I never thought he was very funny. Maybe in Spanish he was hilarious.

I’ve often guessed: that “Pee Wee’s Big Adventure” was Paul Rueben’s take on “Pepe”……..that right?!? I mean, it’s "boy man loses horse, goes to Hollywood, gets horse back, and boy man loses bike, goes to Hollywood, gets bike back. Both films, each in their own decade, scored big with “all age groups”……….Cantinflas was O.K……..

Cantinfloas’ comedic sticht was doubletalk so convoluted that he always managed to talk his way out of any situation. It doesn’t quite work in subtitles.

Fun fact: if Charlie Chaplin and Cantinflas french kissed, their moustaches wouldn’t touch.
