Did anyone read today’s “Baby Blues”? It was hilarious.
APT3G: Both this and “Mary Worth” have never really implied any sexual action. I wonder if Evan’s passionate kiss will be justr that – kiss. Of course, the scene could immediatly switch to LuAnn or Tommie, thus hinting that something more is happening.
REX MORGAN: The couple is actually Jewish, even the way Mr. Schwartz frames his question And RM has, in the past, shown non-stereotyped African-Americans. Good for the cartoonist. I wish “Mary Worth” and “Apt3G” would show non-Anglo types (I know: Margo’s mother is Hispanic, can Margo speak Spanish?). A few grubby beards instead of neat beards (I know that music producer had a full-grown mane, but it was still neat) would also help show variety in the charachters.
Baby Blues – I don’t normally read this one but Arye’s right. It’s a funny one.Rex Morgan – @Arye. How do you know they’re Jewish?Judge Parker – A chainsaw? Boy, does he ever!Phantom – I love the way the artist does the different hues of color in the sky.
@First of all, they’re surname “Schwartz.” Secondly, the way Mr. Scwartz worded his question is typical (if not stereotypical of older Jews, especially if they were born in Eastern Europe).
Judge Parker – Why does Sam ask about the chainsaw? Perhaps they see signs around the fallen tree. Or maybe they hear it?A3G – This is getting ridiculous. Margo is so unprofessional.Mary Worth – Will we ever see the picture of Merry?Rex – My husband’s family were German-speaking Mennonites who migrated to the U.S. from Ukraine in 1874 and later. There were several Schwartz families in the group. When we were married in 1957, I thought some of the group spoke in a way that sounded a little different to me.
