Scrappy Lad: Y'know, Moxie, I'm an orphan, too. Moxie Gumption: Yeah, were you raised in a cannery? Scrappy Lad: No, my parents were murdered, making me eligible for the sidekick-training program. I grew up there. Moxie Gumption: You think that makes us alike? I worked 12-hour days until I was eight! How is your sidekick school like that?? Scrappy Lad: Well, they're both a little iffy on child labor laws... Moxie Gumption: True...

But I think Moxie could have actually gone Social Services concerning the child labor laws and her working in the cannery. Scrappy’s a side-kick, I kinda doubt Social Services cares that much about side-kicks really. Certainly not since Robin got killed (and if you don’t know I’m not talking Dick Grayson you don’t know enough about the Batman mythos).

I always liked when Robin and Speedy would compare upbringings. Robin was taught much better and was more prepared for crime fighting while Speedy had more fun. Both where jealous of the other.
