    My instructor for Radio and TV 125 described it in terms of “you got a little guy with a flashlight runnin’ around inside the tube.” The blanking pulse tells him to turn the flashlight off, beam deflection tells him to run across the screen, and so on.

    If those are their cleverest tale tellers, why do we have ‘reality’ shows? Are the best reduced to slaving for the worst?

    His illustration broke down when he said, “cleverest tale-tellers”. The vast majority of what passes as television programing lacks the literary skill of a pre-schooler.
