Tia Carmen: Every misfortune you have carries in it the seed of tomorrows good luck! Tia Carmen: I didn't win the lottery last week, but this week that jackpot's mine!
Any lottery is basically a government casino–and those who “win” actually will get clobbered twice (once when buying the tickets, and second time when part of “winnings” is de-ducked).
THEOREM: ejcapulet says:
Lottery: taxes for people who are REALLY bad at math.
PROOF: carmy says:
I’ve seen people pay 20.00 or more for some of those “scratchers” and then get all excited because they won 5 bucks. Whoo hoo, not.
Thank you folks for once again restoring faith in science. LOL
Hey, LibrarianInTraining! After some hectic RL, I finally traced back and found your answer to my question of more than a week ago.
No, I don’t know anything about library schools in this day and age, except that I think they’re still pretty few and far between. Forty years ago, Denver U had an accredited one, but it was cheaper for me to pay out of state tuition and maintain an apartment in Kansas than to live at home and go to DU, as it’s a private institution. They no longer have a library program, last I heard. TX has at least two, both in Denton, as the first was at TX Women’s U, and so they put one at N TX, too.
Good luck and good hunting. I hope your grandmother’s end will be peaceful.
One thing about Kansas: we usually have basements against tornadoes. In Texas, you just go to an interior room and hunker down, as nearly everything is built on a slab foundation!

I am not kind of the person like her to win for jackpot or lottery either anyway. Gambling is bad addiction.
