As long as the wondows aren’t completely blocked by posters, I’m there!

We have stores like this here in South Florida, naturally. Unfortunately, they usually have heavy metal bars over the windows and armed security guards outside.

The bars are for hurricane protection and the guards are there for the pastelitos and Cuban coffee.

This is demeaning to such a wonderful comic.

But would the customers call it “Yay-Mart”? Seems like an odd name for an “hispanic friendly” store.

I think that would be “Hota-Mart”!

whardin 1960 that’s the name you end up with when a store is created for Hispanics by non-Hispanics : )

Side note: While working on the Baldo animation series for Univision a while back, we were working on a funny gag that involved peanut butter, the main executive producer on the project said we couldn’t do that because Hispanics didn’t eat peanut butter.

What!?!?!? And here I was all these years… Who woulda thunk it?
