    Except when I am working in my music studio, I always have an audio book plugged in, and I listen to them at night as well—so I can imagine being this kid.

    Although this is a comic, on the serious point about whether or not this is a bad thing: I think it is bad if people stop reading, but good if they can absorb more books at times they can’t read: like when driving. The only bad part about listening instead of reading is you don’t see spelling.

    I think for most kids at that age, having their parents’ attention would be at least as important as what they were reading.
