If cartoonists used Google images they could save themselves time of recreating the wheelFor instance, if you just put something like:“Pumpkins at dentist office”, it comes right up.I do this all the time just because it’s a waste of time to recreate something done before. Now, of course, it isn’t 100% all the time, but it’s pretty good, especially if you enter in your idea a couple of different ways. Why wouldn’t all cartoonists want to do this I wonder.
Check out today’s BLISS cartoon. Again, this is what I mean.If you type into GOOGLE “Witch and children’ menu” FOUR of the same exact cartoon pop up.Seriously, why not just Google your ideas cartoonists so you can avoid doing what someone else has done already.
Thanks Red.Fact is with the technology right in front of all of us there is little excuse to not make use of it. Again, who wants to waste time trying to recreate the wheel? As a cartoonist myself, the whole fun of it is the challenge of creating and resultant enjoyment of having come up with a new work.
On the other hand, if everybody did the research there’d be a lot less books, paintings, TV programmes, cartoons, recipes, songs, symphonies…and so on. I went shopping last week but if I’d done the research I’d have realised that I did it before and my neighbour did the same the day before..Lets not stifle individual creativity.
@ pcolli and KMAre you two for real or just joking by your responses? Those are ridiculous statements.
@pcolli…“Let’s not stifle the creativity??” So you’re saying creativity will be stifled if cartoonists double check to see if a particular cartoon has been done before???? Please go to dictionary.com and type in the word “creativity”. You obviously don’t know what it means.
So, instead of actually addressing my comments about your irrational remarks, you accuse me of having a mental breakdown???I guess I should have expected something like that from people who speak bravely under the mask of their anonymity . You cannot defend your irrational statements up above so you become more irrational. Makes sense, irrationally speaking.Good luck with that.In the meantime, I offer again to all cartoonists to Google research your ideas for your own benefit and all other cartoonists.
