Education is everywhere.

The cornucopia of content on TV is similar to the cornucopia of foodstuffs at the mega food stores, its your individual choices that determine your results, either in waistline or intelligence. The wise consumer can improve himself, the unwise, perhaps lazy, consumer who chooses a steady diet of junk, either as food or TV content becomes the typical couch potato, full of empty calories and trivial information.

Taz: I would refine ‘Education is everywhere’ to something along the lines of “Data is everwhere, ways of turning data into information, and information into wisdom, and knowing the differences is the role of education.”

What’s going on with the internet is a multifaceted analog to what occured in practical mathematics upon the onset of cheap electronic calculators, a population of button pushers/websurfers who cannot independently determine if the answer from the machine makes sense and is a rational reflection of the real world.

TV is a waste of time. And probably a major cause of the rampant obesity in America.

ok then, grab a book, a gallon of ice-cream and settle down on the couch then.
