This is getting bad.
This looks like a variant of the old found money scam. I never understand how that could work until you factor in equal amounts of greed and stupidity. Fortunately I’m not greedy.

I think there is actually a wiki for all known scams. I researched pyramid scam one time and was amazed at all the info on that one.
I think this one is called the “Pigeon Drop”.
Probably the strip authors felt a rerun would be useful to potential scam victims.
