Election results are coming in- but they say some races are going to be too tight to call. Then they should just let the candidates settle it by playing rock paper scissors. That's a great idea! Then again, I could see some of the nastier candidates using the rock or scissors on their opponent.

yeah, what with putting a candidate up to run, that’s a sure sign that the election is rigged. on another note … that’s a three stooges reference, right?

I say we oil them up and have them fight it out in the Thunderdome.

A thought for the Day:If you are part of a society that votes, then do so. There may be no candidates and no measures you want to vote for…but there are certain to be ones you want to vote against. In case of doubt, vote against. By this rule you will rarely go wrong. If this is too blind for your taste, consult some well-meaning fool (there is always one around) and ask his advice. Then vote the other way. This enables you to be a good citizen (if such is your wish) without spending the enormous amount of time on it that truly intelligent exercise of the franchise requires.-Lazarus Long (by Robert A. Heinlein)

The ever-popular two falls out of three should work nicely!

There are actually some local elections where if there is a tie, their election laws have the winner chosen by a coin toss. It has been decided several times.

I have been thinking lately that the best way to ensure fairness in government is to leave decisions to chance. Have some system like coin flipping. Just make sure it can’t be rigged, like with a trick coin.

Or maybe we should appoint the losers of the election! (Didn’t Heinlein suggest that one too?) “The Moon is a Harsh Mistress” IIRC.
