Pasquale: Momma said I may wake up one day loving the taste of lima beans and brussels sprouts! Pasquale: She said we are constantly evolving...I could get over my fear of clowns...you might stop hogging completely! Pasquale: Easy, Clem! There were no scientific studies to back her hogging theory!

Lima Beans, yes…Brussels sprouts, ah….no.

… taste for food? sure… fear of clowns? naturally… hogging? nah, don’t think so.If that kid grows up to become the leader of some country, he’ll likely invade his neighbors and take over.

Actually, that whole lima beans and brussel sprouts thing is a load of BS also. Only those whose sense of taste and taste buds have deevolved actually like them. Contrary to every idiot who thinks kids should eat them.

The lima beans and brussel sprouts can go one way. I’ll go the other, thank you.

Even though I like lima beans and Brussels sprouts, they produce too much gas to have them very often.

I loved spinach and brussel sprouts as a kid; still do. Lima beans are alright; nothing exciting, but nothing wrong with them, either.

I love lima beans with ham with a slice of corn bread. But brussel sprouts gross.

how in Heaven’s name did your parents serve lima beans, brussels sprouts and even liver that nobody seemed to like it? My mom made a nice liver with fresh salsa that makes my mouth water to this day. Lima beans? A little salt, pepper and butter, and I’m set; and as for sprouts, take fresh, chop them into shreds, put ‘em in a pan with butter or oil, dried cranberries, and cinnamon, and you’ve got something! Wow!

sprouts. ugh. i’m not putting anything in my mouth that conveys the sensation of a jumbo ball of snot…and tastes like it, too.

It has been clinically proven…

I find both to be neither avoided nor pursued. I WOULD like to see our KFC replace the B sprouts on their buffet with their green beans (minus some of the salt).

It’s fun to see Clem freak out like that.

Your taste buds do change as you get older. I used to hate onion, now I can eat a whole one, raw.

hmm, always loved lima beans, i think it may be a southern thing. succotash is a staple there much like carrots and peas are elsewhere (dad called that a Yankee conspiracy, rofl). brussel sprouts with enough butter are not bad, just baby cabbage. Liver wit salsa, now that’s something I never ever considered previously. unfortunately, i live in a house with spouse who will not eat liver, or organ meat of any kind. But I will keep it in mind … liver’s not easy to cook, it has to be just right. Cranberries and cinnamon on brussel sprouts … actually, sounds like cold with salad dressing that would be good .. LOL As to Clem … you never know, he might have an epiphany at some point, discover that there is at least one person in the world it’s worth sharing with …. but that’s for when he’s older. :chuckle:

I love it when Clem panics.

I have heard that one should encourage one’s child to try a bite of disliked foods every six months or so, to see if their tastes have changed.
