Wow…. even LOW melt glue, which is what most people use for floral and other crafts involving cloth, is hotter than boiling water and sticks to the skin in a heat-retaining blob!
The more old-fashioned hot melt glue causes 3rd degree burns!
Yeah, I’m thinking the cartoonist doesn’t realise how horrible that would be…and how likely to get in poor Gene’s eyes.
I think I still have a tiny low-melt one from the 80’s, with a trigger so you don’t have to hold a finger on the back end…but I haven’t used it in years
I made floral barrettes for some pre-school girls who were going to be in a friend’s wedding.
(They’re all 30-ish now… sigh…)
Low-melt glue wasn’t yet perfected….and the flowers all fell off.
X_Tech Industries is our contractual manufacturer…they run R&D for us when we have a new idea…or sometimes they suggest one….
We handle financials, branding, promotion, and both retail and wholesale distribution.
Material sourcing and beta testing are shared duties….I wasn’t in charge of this one, but I DO need to keep a handle on product availability, br>so I was surprised to see it already in use…especially as I haven’t finished designing the logo, labels or packaging!
I remember those old POLICE days. Busting folks for a roach. Glad it has eased up some but still I think it is a waste of time. I much rather deal with a pothead than a drunk any day of the week. Never had to fight the pothead. The bad drunk every single time.
It was her glue gun he had taken without her permission. She was doing her arts and crafts when she could find the glue gun. She became aware when she heard the clacking of small sticks and realized GENE had taken her gun. NowSandra’s got a gun.Her whole day is not undone.Gene is gonna be on the runSandra’s got a gun.
I heard somewhere leaders in Mexico are speaking with Texas people about seeing how they can export pot to Colorado since they passed that new law. I mean Texas is stomping all smugglers to stop it and Colorado legalized it. Hmmmmm. Free Trade is the agreement between us and Mexico. Another question I heard was does this apply to visitors just coming to Colorado? I think Colorado is going to have a population boom. Alaska legalized personal use years ago but living there costs too much so the munchies were very expensive. Colorado would be a better place. Cheaper munchies. Speaking of which I am going to grab some munchies.
Sadly, Gene watched as the ice cream truck drove right by, with a sign that said:
POPSICLES — OUT OF STOCK!
That’s right! The annual Ballard St. Popsicle Stick Craft Fair had made the Popsicle Stick a rare and hotly sought-after commodity. With projects like this the local Ballard Sticks, Glue and Motorcycle Club has virtually wiped out the Popsicle stick supply on the western end of Ballard County.
And, if only Gene had remembered Murry’s advice: ALWAYS WEAR THE PROTECTIVE GEAR WHEN THE GLUE GUN IS ON AND THE WIFE IS HOME! ESPECIALLY, IF IT’S THE WIFE’S GLUE GUN!
I never did get back here last night, but I wanted to tell you that between your efforts at helping PColli with poetry and thoughts on nipple rings, you had me in stitches!
The capybaras are very appreciative of all the attention they got the other night and they squeak a huge “thank you”. The serpents are now back home after pulling a scam or two. The local zoo is missing a few hippos and a panda. I guess one of them had chinese for dinner.

Every one needs a hobby, Sandra just needs a hubby ! Seems she was coming a bit unglued about Gene’s hobby.I’m flying back to the other coast today and will catch up with my fellow Ballardeers tonight, when I get home. For all my fellow veterans out there and their families, I want to thank you for your service. For those too young to remember, today was a originally called Armistice Day to commemorate the end of World War I. On the 11 hour of the 11th day of the 11 month , we should observe a moment of silence for those brave individuals who gave their lives in defense of freedom.
Sending this message via carrier pigeon and pony express from the western part of Ballard County…the bus will start running at the changeover….I gotta cut somebody’s hair out here in a few minutes.
Busy busy weekend and tomorrow will be too….but I’ll try to see you all at the Tiki as soon as I can get there tonight.

When I bought one of the first small, inexpensive glue guns for craft use, they were all high-melt.
It didn’t have an on-off switch, so you had to control the flow with finger pressure on the glue stick or rear aperture.
I never had spatters like that…. but the melted glue was runny and dripped from the nozzle.
When you pulled it away from the work, it stretched like rubber cement, making strings that stuck to everything and could burn your skin.
It made such a mess I gave it away.

Bev — another emoticon, I see…. did you use a glue gun to put it in there?
SusanSunshine Premium Member about 12 years ago
Most of the couples on Ballard Street are inspirationally tolerant and supportive of each other.
Sandra must be really tired of being a “model widow.”
SusanSunshine Premium Member about 12 years ago
Bev — the kind with no trigger?I hated that!

X! Shhh! That stuff’s not out of beta yet!
I was telling my stories of old glue guns to (sneakily) build up the desire for our new product.
How did Sandra get it??!!
SusanSunshine Premium Member about 12 years ago
BTW it makes the best rice Krispy treats.
They’re not as sweet as the marshmallow kind, they never break in your purse or pocket…
and the glue comes in the same delicious flavors as M&S Ultra SS Brain Bleach, including strawberry and chicken.

Wow, Red….those are some complicated lyrics!
As for the glue….I’m not sure.

Oh, X… it’s OK.Glad to see it made it out of beta, actually.
I’ll have the design over to development on Monday so we can get it into retail packaging.

Keep wondering if Mr. Amerongen reads this and realizes what a monster he’s created.
BTW Miss Sunshine – the glue flavors just sounded gross. Glad I haven’t had breakfast yet.
