My Mom used to swab my throat with white merthiolate when I was a kid every time I had a sore throat or cold. I’ve swallowed a LOT of mercury and it never affected me in the least.

Back when we were kids, kids used to coat pennies with mercury to make them shiny silver colored. Back when we were kids, kids had a LOT more sense than the EPA does today!! But then I’m just a chemist and engineer and I know what I’m talking about.

beviek—-Not sure what your light problems are, but many touch lamps & motion lights & things of that type can come on by themselves from minor power flucuations, surges, or the power being off for just seconds, which may not be even noticed by you. Mine do it all of the time, especially during a storm, where the standard type of lights would only flicker.
