I wish the candidates were allowed only to publish position papers on each of the issues – and that would be that. NO commercials or print ads. NO mailers or robo-calls. And only 3 months for the campaign season.
cdward and Dunestrider for co-presidents! Unfortunately, Congress sets the election date and states fiddle around with all the early stuff and primaries. We can wish, though, and maybe write a few letters to the jokers with the power to change things once we regain our lives again from the incessant election. Anyone have Adelson’s and Soros’ addresses? Yuck!
I remember a letter to the editor in Canada in the ’70s: “If Britain can hold an election in four weeks, why do we take six?” And I always think, why do we never stop?
