so my thought that the glass is not engineered correctly for the amount of available water would be a pragmatic view of the situation?

Realist: it’s time to order another drink, it will be empty by the time it gets there.

So, pragmatism means one guy gets everything and the other gets nothing?

If the glass was empty and was then being filled, it would be half full, likewise if it was full and was being emptied. On the other hand, if the glass was half full and just sitting there, then evaporation would mean it was on it’s way to being empty (point two above).

I should probably get back to work now.

This reminded me of a T-shirt I saw:“Technically, the glass is always full -1/2 water & 1/2 air!”

The pedant says that both glasses are full of a mixture of 50% liquid and 50% air.The student says there is room for another half if you are buying
