Nothing says “love” like a long-distance stupid debate by cell-phone….

Nothing says love like trying to weasel out of responsibility.

My GF in Joisey lost power last Monday, got it back Sunday. Her cat was sleeping under the covers to stay warm.

“Well, I think it’s usually up to people in the ‘safe zone’ to call the person in danger’s way.”

In ’89 when we here in San Francisco had our “Pretty Big One”, the word went out to non-San Franciscans NOT to try to call in, but to wait for us (in the Quake Zone) to call out. It kept the phone lines from being overloaded.

Actually, Mona should tell Lucas the truth:

“I called as soon as Jennifer Babcock could work it into the publication schedule. With lead times being what they are, I’m calling you remarkably soon!”
