I can relate to this strip. Our daughters are 7-1/2 and 10, and the letting-go doesn’t get easier as they get older, but is necessary. We just keep the old saying in mind: roots & wings.
Oh that is an easy one: to give them interaction with other kids, to get acclimated to germs outside the familly environment before they start school, and in the case of the last kid, to be convince they are okay before scouting for a job. I did all these for my kids, it was normal modus operanti 20 years ago. Still is with some of my young coworkers. My friend just got her kid to kidergarden cause she was to spoiled by her grandparents and did not have social skill at age 3.
