This reminds me a lot of the painting “The Alchymist, in Search of the Philosopher’s Stone, Discovers Phosphorus, and prays for the successful Conclusion of his operation, as was the custom of the Ancient Chymical Astrologers”. It depicts alchemist Henning Brand, who isolated white phosphorus in 1665 by boiling down urine. It was the first discovery of a new element after antiquity.

There’s that pesky cursor that Steve keeps around sometimes. Does anyone know the meaning behind it?
SusanSunshine Premium Member about 12 years ago
Graham and Nicole…. that’s what my comment was about too….how come nobody notices???
DOES Melcher do these with screen shots?Seems odd somehow, when there are so many places to download the images.
What do you think, Mabrndt?
And Monkey…. yeah, that was amazing occurrence…. and ignored for so long it could never be properly studied.
So I’ve always wondered…. where will the next one be?
