Odds are he’s bought a frozen bird. Can’t imagine what would happen… LOL

A friend and I used to deep fry turkeys on Thanksgiving and Christmas for anyone who wanted one cooked that way. We average about 20 or more fried birds. We’d start the oil about 5am in the morning and cook until 1pm. I’d then go home and eat, either an oven roasted or barbecued bird. Oh yes, we’d always get at least one idiot who didn’t understand why we couldn’t ( and wouldn’t ) cook his frozen turkey.

A fried turkey is quite tasty. A downside is there are no drippings to make gravy with. As to @Linguists comment about the idiot and their frozen turkey, it’s amazing how many stories you hear after someone gets burnt by doing just that. As for the way I cook one, I brine it in an apple/spice brine overnight.

And not just Darwin Award candidates who try to deep-fry a frozen turkey, but who compound the problem by just dropping it into the vat.
