When you count your blessings this Thanksgiving, don’t forget Congress. They’ve adjourned. They can’t spend any more of your money. - Will Rogers

How many of you can remember the good old days when Congress REALLY WAS adjourned by Thanksgiving? At 69 I’m not sure whether I really can remember it or just remember reading about it!

Some Welsh people like “laverbread”, made from the laver seaweed. I have to say, though, I’m half Welsh and have never had it. Wouldn’t mind trying it, but I’ve never seen it offered anywhere I’ve eaten.

OK, maybe I’m just obtuse this morning, but this one has me stumped. What happened to the turkey in the last frame? And why seaweed and rocks? Can somebody explain the joke?

Have you ever seen a turkey duck? Obviously the turkey ducked their attack and is recovering while hiding from them :D

I think they tried to kill the turkey, to the point of breaking his wing and shooting arrows into him, but he was able to escape and survive. So no turkey dinner for them.

I guess the idea is that the turkey got away, but the way it’s drawn makes it hard to tell. I also would not feel sorry for people who tried to kill me and failed, and instead ended up having sea veggie for their meal — and finally, I don’t think they actually had Thanksgiving in the B.C. era…. Started in N. America in the 1600’s, right?

It seems like we missed a strip. Last I saw, the turkey was healthy.
